Dr. Kennedy Sentamu: A Milestone Achievement for ARTS and the ARTS Scholar Program.

  • We are delighted to announce that Kennedy Sentamu, the first ARTS Scholar, has successfully completed his Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree at Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary (RPTS) in Pittsburgh, USA, after five years of rigorous academic work and ministry engagement.

Kennedy’s doctoral project—“Establishing and Developing a Biblical Counseling Center at Africa Reformation Theological Seminary (ARTS): A Project of Immense Significance in the Context of Uganda, Africa”—addresses a vital and timely need in African pastoral and theological training. His research lays the foundation for a transformative ministry of soul care in East Africa, rooted deeply in the sufficiency of Scripture.

On April 8th, 2025, Kennedy was formally examined, approved, and recommended for appointment to the voting faculty by the ARTS Governing Council. In this new chapter, he will serve in multiple capacities:

    • Leading the establishment and development of the ARTS Biblical Counseling Center,

    • Teaching Biblical Counseling courses, and

    • Contributing to ARTS administration as a faculty member.

Kennedy extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported him throughout this journey—financially, academically, and prayerfully. He also expresses deep gratitude for the privilege of being the pioneer of the ARTS Scholar Program, which launched in October 2019. It is his hope and prayer that many more African men and women will follow this path to be equipped for faithful, reformed, and gospel-centered ministry across the continent.
