The Seminary is a graduate level theological training school that equips ministry practitioners for pastoral and leadership ministry roles in the church, currently offering three different masters programs.

Enrollment requires a credible profession of faith in Christ as Savior and Lord and a genuine desire and internal call to serve Christ and His church, an endorsement from the applicant’s church and proof of a first degree (in any subject).

Special students and auditors not seeking to earn a master’s degree may also take ARTS classes.

Yes, ARTS is accredited by the National Council For Higher Education of Uganda, the tertiary educational regulatory agency of the Ugandan government. On December 19, 2016, ARTS was granted a provisional license by NCHE. ARTS began offering NCHE-accredited courses in January 2017.

For God’s glory Africa Reformation Theological Seminary exists to train pastors and church leaders to impact Uganda and Africa with biblical reformation through Gospel-driven and Christ-centered churches.

Africa Reformation Theological Seminary desires to spread a passion for God’s glory by training pastors and leaders who will be used by the Holy Spirit to bring the transforming power of Christ’s gospel of grace and the Word of God first to the African church and then to all of African society, to the end that the African church may be used by God for biblical reformation and world-wide gospel missions and impact.

“Training for Biblical Reformation through Gospel-Driven Churches”

The Master of Divinity (116 credits) and the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Biblical Counseling Emphasis (82 credits); the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Christian Education Emphasis (82 credits); the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Pastoral Leadership Emphasis (82 credits); and the Master of ARTS in Biblical Counseling (84 credits).

The Master of Divinity can be completed in three (3) years for the full-time student. Some full-time students will need an additional semester to complete requirements. The MDiv must be completed in six (6) years. The Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Biblical Counseling Emphasis, the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Christian Education Emphasis, the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Pastoral Leadership Emphasis and the master of Arts in Biblical Counseling all require three (3) years for the full-time student and require fewer courses than the MDiv program. The MATS and MABC degrees must be completed in five (5) years.

Lecturers come from Uganda, Zimbabwe, Australia, the US and Canada. All have graduate degrees in theology and most have earned doctorates or are currently enrolled in doctoral programs. All are experienced pastors and church leaders who have a love for Christ, a love for God’s Word, a love for Christ’s church and a love for extending Christ’s kingdom by taking the gospel of grace to all tribes and nations.

Some are full-time but the majority are part-time, visiting lecturers.

Tuition is $22 per course (or $11 per credit), textbooks are estimated at $25 per course and the resident fee is $36 per week (room, utilities and food). Students may be residents only during courses. Full-time MDiv students pay about $898 per semester or $1796 per year for three years. Full-time MATS and MABC students pay about $638 per semester or $1277 per year for three years. See the document “ARTS Student Cost Estimate” at the Admissions tab at the website. These dollar amounts vary due to fluctuations in the exchange rate.

Because ARTS has supporting donors and sponsors, the ARTS faculty are almost entirely self-supporting missionaries and because we have a strong commitment to keep fees affordable for Africans and for sponsors.
