Student scholarships are the life-blood of theological education all over the world. This is especially true in the developing world. Very few students or their immediate families are able to afford graduate level theological education. Therefore, students must rely on churches, relatives, friends and sponsors. ARTS is committed to provide and maintain theological education at prices affordable to Africans and to USA and western partners who sponsor ARTS students. ARTS student fees are extremely low and reasonable due to a self-funded missionary faculty, to generous publisher textbook discounts, to low resident fees (low food and labor costs), and to the fact that the ARTS campus property and its buildings have no mortgages.
Each student is expected to invest some of his/her own money and energy in paying for his/her program. This promotes healthy personal responsibility, personal investment, ownership and proper self-reliance.
For estimated student fees, see the document “2017 Africa Reformation Theological Seminary
Student Cost Estimates in Uganda Shillings and US Dollars” here.
If you wish to partner with ARTS in sponsoring a student and you live in the US you may direct gifts as follows:
All checks for ARTS student scholarships should be made to and sent to:
North City Presbyterian Church
Attn Treasurer/Financial Director
11717 Poway Rd
Poway CA, 92064
Gifts should be designated “ARTS Student Scholarships.” If you already have a specific student you want to sponsor, please indicate the student’s name in this communication. Otherwise, you will be assigned to a student. All gifts are fully tax-deductible and will be used in entirety for the sponsorship of a specific student.
For student sponsorship gifting information and where to direct funding, donors from countries other than the US should contact the Business Manager at ARTS at businessmanager@arts.ac.ug
