The Seminary is a graduate level theological training school that equips ministry practitioners for pastoral and leadership ministry roles in the church, currently offering three different masters programs. - What is required for enrollment?
Enrollment requires a credible profession of faith in Christ as Savior and Lord and a genuine desire and internal call to serve Christ and His church, an endorsement from the applicant’s church and proof of a first degree (in any subject). - Can others take classes?
Special students and auditors not seeking to earn a master’s degree may also take ARTS classes. - Who governs ARTS?
A Governing Council that is composed of ordained ruling and teaching elders, members of the Faculty and other lay people. - Is ARTS accredited?
Yes, ARTS is accredited by the National Council For Higher Education of Uganda, the tertiary educational regulatory agency of the Ugandan government. On December 19, 2016, ARTS was granted a provisional license by NCHE. ARTS began offering NCHE-accredited courses in January 2017. - How many students are enrolled at ARTS?
Currently about 80. - Where do ARTS students come from?
Burundi, Cameroon, Congo (DRC), Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Korea, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe. - What denominations are among the students?
Denominations include African Inland Church, Anglican, Baptist, Methodist, Independent, Pentecostal, Presbyterian Church in Uganda, Reformed Presbyterian Church of Uganda, African Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Kenya, Presbyterian Church in Malawi, City Presbyterian Church of Zimbabwe, and the Presbyterian Church of South Sudan. - What is the language of instruction?

We seek to train and equip pastors, preachers, biblical counselors, church planters, evangelists, educators and church leaders first for significant positions of leadership in the church and also for leadership in society. - What is the ARTS mission statement?

“Training for Biblical Reformation through Gospel-Driven Churches” - What degree programs does ARTS offer?
The Master of Divinity (116 credits) and the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Biblical Counseling Emphasis (82 credits); the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Christian Education Emphasis (82 credits); the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Pastoral Leadership Emphasis (82 credits); and the Master of ARTS in Biblical Counseling (84 credits). - How many years are required for a full-time student to graduate in these programs?
The Master of Divinity can be completed in three (3) years for the full-time student. Some full-time students will need an additional semester to complete requirements. The MDiv must be completed in six (6) years. The Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Biblical Counseling Emphasis, the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Christian Education Emphasis, the Master of Arts in Theological Studies, Pastoral Leadership Emphasis and the master of Arts in Biblical Counseling all require three (3) years for the full-time student and require fewer courses than the MDiv program. The MATS and MABC degrees must be completed in five (5) years. - Who are the lecturers?
Lecturers come from Uganda, Zimbabwe, Australia, the US and Canada. All have graduate degrees in theology and most have earned doctorates or are currently enrolled in doctoral programs. All are experienced pastors and church leaders who have a love for Christ, a love for God’s Word, a love for Christ’s church and a love for extending Christ’s kingdom by taking the gospel of grace to all tribes and nations. - Are the lecturers all full-time at ARTS?
Some are full-time but the majority are part-time, visiting lecturers. - Are the lecturers all residents of Uganda?
Five (5) of our sixteen (16) lecturers live in Uganda. - How can the lecturers serve on a part-time basis?
All ARTS courses are taught in concentrated modules of five days each. This enables lecturers, who reside outside of Uganda to visit and teach for brief periods and also for lecturers residing in Uganda to teach in a concentrated fashion. - What is the Seminary curriculum?
The curriculum for each degree programs is available at www.arts.ac. - What are the estimated tuition and fees per year for ARTS?
Tuition is $22 per course (or $11 per credit), textbooks are estimated at $25 per course and the resident fee is $36 per week (room, utilities and food). Students may be residents only during courses. Full-time MDiv students pay about $898 per semester or $1796 per year for three years. Full-time MATS and MABC students pay about $638 per semester or $1277 per year for three years. See the document “ARTS Student Cost Estimate” at the Admissions tab at the website. These dollar amounts vary due to fluctuations in the exchange rate. - Why are the costs so low?
Because ARTS has supporting donors and sponsors, the ARTS faculty are almost entirely self-supporting missionaries and because we have a strong commitment to keep fees affordable for Africans and for sponsors. - How can I help?
